Calligraphy Samples and Pricing
Poetry, music, and other pieces of writing are turned into artwork when written in hand-lettered calligraphy. This poem is an original work created by a Williamsburg grandfather for his granddaughter. He asked me to blur the majority of the work so that his words remain close to his family, however, you can see from the small piece that is shown just how calligraphy turns it into a beautiful heirloom to be treasured for generations. Calligraphy for projects such as this is priced individually. Contact Kathleen for a quote. Standard Pricing Traditional wedding envelope addressing in hand-lettered calligraphy is $7 per envelope. This includes 3-4 lines of text on the front of the outer envelope and 1-2 lines of text on the inner envelope. If the envelope is lined with foil or another material, the cost is $9 per envelope. Place Cards are $2 per card Return addresses are available, time-permitting and only upon prior consultation, due to the labor-intensity of writing on the flap. Return addresses are $7.00 per envelope. Time Line: It typically takes up to 2 weeks per 100 invitation sets to complete a job. This means that, if you have 300 invitations, you will need to get them to me six weeks before you need them completed. Hand-lettered calligraphy takes time. If it is rushed, errors can be made and the quality of the work can be compromised. Because of this, I rarely accept jobs that do not meet the time deadlines.

This sample highlights the recipient's name while making the address less of a focus on the envelope. While it is more traditional, it takes a little walk on the wild side by having a printed font for the address, and giving the recipient lots of loops and curves to let them know just how special they are!
